In April 2021, I wrote an article that tackled the topic of creating photographs of women breastfeeding in public. I asked a simple question: “In the world of street photography ethics, is it okay to photograph a woman breastfeeding?” My conclusion was, although I wouldn’t, if it’s happening in a public space and the intentions are pure, then it has to be fair game. However, from a recent article on the BBC, it would seem members of the public and the authorities disagree.
