Tamron announced the 20-40mm f/2.8 Di III VXD Zoom Lens. It is a fast-aperture zoom lens for Sony E-mount full frame mirrorless cameras. It can be used for still images and video both. It is compact and lightweight in design at about 3.4 inches and 12.9 oz. It has an optical construction of 12 elements divided into 11 groups. With 4 Low Dispersion two Glass Moulded Aspherical and one Hybrid Aspherical lens element. It also has soft defocus blur effects and circular bokeh. The autofocus drive system uses the VXD linear motor focus mechanism. AF enables the lens to respond to the creative intentions of the photographer by making focusing quick and definite, even with fast-aperture lenses, from the MOD to infinity. The lens is quiet, so it’s perfectly suited for both still and video shooting in conditions that demand silent operation.
It is also compatible with Tamron Lens Utility software for Focus Ring Function Setting and firmware updates.
