Get out of the house at a time when the shops are shut. This could be on a holiday or best, early in the morning. Not only will the shutters be down, but the light will also be soft, thus helping you capture vibrant colours. Now, once you spot a shutter that is of an attractive colour, look for shadows made by the roof of the shop on the shutter. This could be in the form of a geometric pattern, or could also be the shadow of an artefact displayed outside the shop.
